Welcome to the Fly Black World of Melanated Aerialists! This group was lovingly created by Lenise to bring much needed attention, support and opportunity to the talented and melanated men and women of aerials. Often underrepresented in our community, this.
Lenise is an LA based Pilates and Aerial Arts instructor. Her love and passion for the arts have paved a way for helping find their inner strengths both emotionally, and physically. Originally from Dallas, Texas, she relocated to LA to just try a new city and ended up calling it her home. She has a background in professional dance, Pilates, Yoga, and aerial arts. She teaches all throughout the LA county and travels nationally/internationally to teach Pilates with Club Pilates. With her growing demand, she has earned affiliations and partnerships with companies and studios such as AIR Fit, Iconi Leggings, Tavi Noir, and much more. You can read her featured articles in the magazines Voyage and Shout Out LA. She is also the founder of the The Fly Black Aerialists, an organization dedicated to creating community and increasing the circus arts world to people of black descent. She is no newbie to the big stage! She has done work as a featured dancer in “Diary of Black Men” starring late Tommy Ford and Carl Anthony Payne, a dancer at Six Flags over Texas, and a featured Dallas at the NYE Dallas Channel 8 news show. She has been a featured aerialist in voted best music video October 2020 by the Los Angeles Film Awards with artist, Kevin Neil Hawkins’s. She has also performed as an aerialist on the virtual stage of “Let em eat Cake NYC”, Afro Comicon, and Fly Black Aerialists. Also recently was a featured aerialist in the movie “For the Love of Money” starring Keith Sweat, Lisa Raye McCoy, Katt Williams, Rotimi, and Cedric Pendleton.
